The Oshadi Collective works around the Tamil Agricultural calendar. Seed-to-sew systems are rooted to the soil and the cycles of nature and the moon, not the traditional seasons of the fashion calendar. We have divided the year into six seasons and you can use this calendar to navigate the journal, season by season

This is the month for boll maturation, then bursting.
PURATTASI

The sowing of seeds is done in amavaasai (new moon) or valar pirai (first quarter) and it increases the germination rate.

Cold, windy season

Plant growth, bud formation.
KARTHIGAI
November 15 → December 14
Munpani kaalam
Fog and mist during the night
Pongal Festival of Harvest thanking the Sun God and Nature for a prosperous crop yield. Time to plough the fields.
